I met Martin via the Roadshow when I was 17 and lately we had marveled at how that connection had carried us over 20 years. I also keep thinking I will wake up one day and he will be here. I can't quite comprehend that there will never be another conversation in the dj booth, another hug goodbye as I head back down to the big, bad USA, another string of emails. I cry still at the oddest moments for him and for the loss of what could have been a great new chapter in his life.

I wish you all the best on the book. I will be in line for a copy when you are done.

I also have my creative juices flowing again: I have been working on a cabaret of some of the great alternative music from the 80's that we all love, as well as one of Canadian music that most down here have never heard. It has been on the back burner for a while now but after Martin's death I pulled out all the material. It seems like a fitting way to honour a man I adored and who taught me so much. I will miss him forever.

Thank you for your words. I look forward to the book.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01499460701864836921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6200047450050972994.post-31211368036351324732009-07-24T06:56:51.662-04:002009-07-24T06:56:51.662-04:00My Heatho:

The kindest, most caring person I will ever know.

Knowing how you felt and still feel about Martin I can say that your words about him and your friendship with him are absolutely heartwrenching. You manage to capture the essence of your relationship with him. A
friendship I had hoped would continue for many more years.

I did, indeed have a soft spot in my heart for Martin. He was a sweet man.

I hope you share your thoughts and your words about Martin with some
other people who loved him. Everyone had a different relationship with him. That was one of Martin's many gifts. He was true to so many. Your eloquence and your tenderness would be appreciated by those who
truly knew him. Share your thoughts and grieve together.
The grieving process is a long and lonely one. Share his memories, his love, his laugh, his music and his warmth.

I miss him too.

Thank you for writing your beautiful words.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13462779828237098322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6200047450050972994.post-37864009305446086562009-07-23T19:09:42.157-04:002009-07-23T19:09:42.157-04:00Whatever I can do to help you finish your novel I ...Whatever I can do to help you finish your novel I will do *hugs*Rachelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6200047450050972994.post-41999343964762599862009-07-23T18:18:49.146-04:002009-07-23T18:18:49.146-04:00I'm sitting here in tears. But there are tears - for him, for his friends, for you, for a part of my youth that feels as though it has left with him.

I truly think that the best way to honour his memory is to finish the book. I expect to see a manuscript asap lady!me0whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03534723430870892251noreply@blogger.com
